Jharkhand Police have rescued four missing girls from New Delhi and Rajasthan’s Jaipur, nearly all of them lured by traffickers with promises of domestic work. A special Khunti Police team brought the girls home on Monday.
Three were found at separate locations in the national capital on October 15, while the fourth, who went missing a decade ago, was traced to Jaipur. The breakthrough began when police travelled to Delhi looking for two girls, aged 13 and 14, who had been missing since November 2025. Their parents had filed cases with the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit police station in Khunti.
The fourth girl was found after her details surfaced during UIDAI verification for a new Aadhaar card, where her ancestral village and old mobile number matched police records. Technical surveillance then led the team to Jaipur. She had been taken to Delhi about 10 years ago, put to work as a domestic help for six months and then sold in Jaipur. Two of the girls are from Khunti police station limits and two from Karra. Police say some placement agencies were also involved and are investigating them, with strict action promised.

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut demanded a change of government in Maharashtra, accusing Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who also holds the Home portfolio, of failing to control crime in the state. Citing recent shootings, murders, extortion and kidnappings, Raut said the government must answer for the deteriorating law and order situation instead of referring to past incidents.
"People are being murdered every day in Maharashtra. We are questioning the government about these incidents, and that is why we are demanding regime change. Instead of answering questions about the present, the Chief Minister asks us to talk about murders that took place 35, 40 or 50 years ago. He should answer for what is happening in the state today," Raut told reporters here.
His remarks came a day after two persons allegedly opened fire at actor Tiger Shroff’s residence, leaving him unharmed, while two others were injured.
