Theft at Secunderabad Cantonment: 11 weapons stolen, probe underway
The arms were allegedly stolen from a room inside the Madras Regiment premises. The area is accessed by military personnel and some civilian employees, police sources said.
Senior officers from the Malkajgiri Police Commissionerate are involved in the investigation, according to officials.
The Army, suspecting an inside job, has sealed the area and is interviewing guards and security personnel.
As per the police complaint, someone gained access to the high-security area and broke open the lock and door. Police and Army officials are checking CCTV footage to identify the culprits.
“We have started the investigation with the full cooperation of the Army regiment,” a senior police official said.
