Burglars decamped with seven government laptops meant for teaching purposes and ₹65,000 cash from the Government Girls Higher Secondary School at Katpadi in Vellore on Friday.
Police said that as per routine, laptops were taken from the cupboard from the headmistress room in the school for computer science students before the laptops were kept in the cupboard again.
Initial inquiry revealed that when the teachers went to take laptops from the cupboard on Friday, they found seven laptops were missing. Headmistress K. Sarla found that cash in the cupboard was also missing. The school, which has around 1,200 students, has a total of 16 laptops for teaching purposes.
