The Andhra Pradesh Teachers Federation (APTF) unanimously elected G. Hridaya Raju as its State president, S. Chiranjeevi as general secretary, and D. Eswara Rao as honorary president during its state general council meeting held in Vijayawada on Friday.
The council reviewed organisational activities, struggles, and reports from the past two years. The federation leaders demanded that the Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Nara Lokesh take an initiative to implement the common service rules for all teacher cadres under the new district system, ensuring equal opportunities for all teachers.
The federation also called for reducing non-teaching duties and improving educational policies for disadvantaged students.
Former State presidents, council members, and women representatives also attended the meeting.
