Rasu, 26, of Kasampatti, who was an agent for FQL and had reportedly collected a huge sum of money from around 150 people and deposited it with the firm, ended his life on Monday.

Blaming some of the depositors, who had lost money in the app scam, for his death, the family members and relatives blocked Natham-Madurai Road on Tuesday.

Police investigations indicated that Rasu died by suicide. His mother Manju accused some of the depositors of forcibly making him end his life. “They had beaten my son to death,” she charged.

The police had a tough time bringing the body from Natham to Dindigul. Deputy Superintendent of Police Karthik deployed around 100 personnel at Government Dindigul Medical College and Hospital, where the body was taken for a post-mortem.

Speaking to media persons, Ms. Manju said her son was innocent and he had been cited as an accused, while the real accused had not been arrested. She demanded justice from the government and said her family would help the police in their investigations.

The police have already arrested three persons in the district — Ramesh, his wife Anitha and relative Vijay. They were produced before a court, which remanded them in judicial custody, following which they were lodged in Madurai Central Prison.
