Nunez spoke with Thmanyah Network after starring for Al-Diriyah with a brace in their Saudi Pro League meeting with Al-Ettifaq. He pointed out that he had endured a terrible six months at Al-Hilal and does not hope for any other players to go through a similar situation.

Darwin Nunez departed Liverpool last summer, joining Al-Hilal on a three-year deal until 2028. He made 24 appearances and scored nine goals between August 2025 and February 2026, before he was frozen out at the club after the arrivals of Karim Benzema and teenager Mohamed Meite.

Nunez did not play another game for Simone Inzaghi's side before the end of the season, and he opted to seek a move away from the club this summer. A transfer to Trabzonspor fell through, and he then chose to head out on loan to newly-promoted Al-Diriyah. He has scored two goals in his first two games for the club, as he seeks to revive his career this term.

Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott is set to move on a season-long loan deal to LaLiga side Valencia, as per reports. The 23-year-old is moving to Spain in a bid to revive his career, which has stalled in the last two seasons.
