Over the weekend, a variety of iPhone Duo orders in Japan started getting pushed up to earlier dates than Apple originally estimated.
For example, here’s a user whose December date got moved up to October 23.

Liked by 9 people The evergreen Apple critics seem to have zero understanding of the challenges relating to a new product release; from development to sourcing, from manufacturing to delivery.
It is unclear whether this change is going to start rolling out more broadly around the world. Though some orders arriving sooner than expected wouldn’t be surprising.
Apple has yet to comment on the updated shipping dates. It’s possible the improved delivery estimates end up being errors that get reverted, but hopefully that’s not the case.
So far the new dates appear limited to orders directly from Apple. We’ll keep you posted on any new developments to the story.
