The video, shared on X by Nikhil Saini, showed the work of Pradeep Sangwan, a Haryana-based environmentalist known for leading clean-up drives in the mountains through his initiative, Healing Himalayas.

The clip showed Sangwan travelling across remote parts of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, walking through mountain trails, open fields, riverbanks, and lakeside areas while collecting litter left behind by tourists and visitors.

Armed with large sacks, he was seen picking up everything from discarded plastic bottles and snack wrappers to other non-biodegradable waste scattered across otherwise scenic landscapes.

In one moment from the video, Sangwan summed up his mission with a simple line: “Mother nature is my employer.”

Rather than taking a serious tone, the post accompanying the video used humour and sarcasm to praise his work.

“Today is the perfect day to expose this Haryana man,” Saini jokingly wrote. “Absolute menace to the garbage industry, bro keeps entering remote areas of Himachal and Uttarakhand and cleaning all the waste people worked so hard to spread it.”

The post continued in a tongue-in-cheek style, adding that despite already removing tonnes of plastic from the Himalayas, Sangwan “refuses to stop,” sarcastically questioning his problem with “bottles, chips packets and garbage peacefully existing in nature.”

“When everyone else is busy fighting online, this guy is busy destroying the littering system built over years,” the caption added.

Social media users responded with admiration, with many commenters indirectly saying that travellers visiting mountain regions should take similar responsibility for the places they visit.

Some users pointed out that simple habits, such as not littering and carrying back even one piece of waste to a proper disposal point, could collectively make a huge difference.

Others praised people like Sangwan for helping restore faith in humanity, indirectly suggesting that individuals working quietly toward environmental causes were among the reasons optimism still remained.
