The train had already begun leaving the station after its scheduled halt when the passenger was seen running along the platform, apparently trying to reach his coach. He initially ran towards one of the coach doors, but the entrance moved past him before he could get there.

Instead of stepping back, the passenger waited for the second door of the coach to come within reach. As the moving train passed him, he grabbed hold of the handle and attempted to climb onto the steps.

The passenger suddenly lost his footing and began slipping alongside the moving train. He remained clinging to the coach handle as his body was dragged along the platform, leaving him dangerously close to the gap between the train and the platform.

A railway technician standing nearby noticed what was happening and immediately rushed towards him.

The technician grabbed the passenger and pulled him away from the moving train, with other people nearby also joining the rescue effort. Within moments, they managed to bring him safely back onto the platform.

The passenger was rescued before he could fall into the gap between the train and the platform, averting what could have turned into a major accident.

The CCTV footage showed just how quickly the situation had escalated, with the passenger going from running towards his train to being dragged alongside it within seconds.

The incident also emphasised the dangers of attempting to board a moving train, particularly after missing the intended coach door.
