10 foot python rescued in Haryana after villagers say it swallowed 20 kg dog
The python was spotted by labourers working in the fields, triggering panic as news of the reptile spread through the village. A crowd soon gathered at the spot to see the snake as villagers claimed the python had swallowed the dog before it was spotted.
In the meantime, the wildlife department was alerted, following which a team reached the spot and safely rescued the python. It was later released into a nearby forest.
Wildlife officials cautioned people against approaching, teasing or trying to catch pythons, as doing so can be dangerous.
