In an official statement, the Safdarjung Hospital has said that activist Sonam Wangchuk's vitals are stable, but he remains weak due to his prolonged fasting.
"Mr Sonam Wangchuck was received and admitted at Safdarjung hospital for required health care at 7.40 am today. He is weak due to prolonged fasting and dehydration. Although he is currently stable, he requires continuous observation, monitoring and treatment to restore his body parameters," the government hospital said in a statement.

Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Saturday announced that he would begin a hunger strike following the removal of activist Sonam Wangchuk from the Jantar Mantar protest site. Speaking at Jantar Mantar, Dipke said the planned march on July 20 would go ahead as scheduled and asserted that the protest would continue despite Wangchuk being shifted to a hospital.
"I am commencing my indefinite hunger strike starting today. I appeal to everyone: do not back down; this movement will only grow larger. They have made a grave mistake... I urge everyone to come to Jantar Mantar; our movement will continue from here, and we will proceed with our march scheduled for July 20th," he said.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Saurabh Bharadwaj on Saturday alleged that plainclothes Delhi Police personnel were deployed during the removal of activist Sonam Wangchuk from the Jantar Mantar protest site. In a post on X, Bharadwaj claimed that police personnel dressed in civilian clothes and sports shoes entered the protest venue and accused them of attempting to obstruct media coverage.

Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Sagarika Ghosh on Saturday condemned the removal of activist Sonam Wangchuk from the Jantar Mantar protest site, describing the action as "coercive state violence". In a post on X, Ghosh criticised the Narendra Modi-led government, alleging that it was relying on force to deal with dissent.
"What sort of shocking coercive state violence is this? The morally bankrupt @narendramodi regime only knows how to use the danda. UNACCEPTABLE," she wrote.
Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav on Saturday criticised the removal of activist Sonam Wangchuk from the Jantar Mantar protest site, alleging that the BJP-led government was undermining democratic rights. Delhi Police on Saturday denied allegations that protesters at Jantar Mantar were lathicharged or detained during the removal of activist Sonam Wangchuk from the protest site.
"In accordance with the Hon’ble High Court’s order and considering his health condition and expert medical advice, Sonam Wangchuk has been shifted to a government hospital for treatment. There has been absolutely no lathi charge or anything of that sort,," New Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Sachin Sharma told news agency ANI.
