Fact Check: These videos DON’T show US and Iran attacks

Reverse-searching frames from this video led to a longer version published by CNN’s YouTube channel on June 2. According to the news outlet, the explosion occurred at a fireworks factory in Malta. At the time of the explosion, there were no workers in the factory, but two people suffered minor injuries nearby. Al Jazeera published the video on June 1, reporting the same information.

A video of smoke billowing from a large compound has been widely shared as the alleged aftermath of an Iranian missile attack in Israel’s Tel Aviv.

Reverse-searching frames from the video led to a post by Belarus-based news outlet Belsat. The video posted on June 18 shows the same visuals. According to the news outlet, a fire engulfed the Sadovod market in Moscow after a drone attack.

Russian news outlet AzattyqAsia published a video showing the same fire on June 20. It said that this fire at the Sadovod wholesale and retail shopping centre in Moscow was the result of a massive drone attack. We found visuals of the shopping centre on Google Maps Street View. It was identical to the viral video.HONG KONG, NOT IRAN

This video shows several high-rise buildings engulfed in fire. Allegedly, it showed the IRGC headquarters in Tehran destroyed by US strikes.

The same video was published by NBC4 Washington on November 26, 2025. Reportedly, a fire engulfed high-rise residential buildings in Hong Kong’s Tai Po district.

We also found the same visuals in a video report by CBS News published on November 27, 2025. According to the outlet, the incident led to the death of 44 people.WAREHOUSE FLAME IN DUBAI

This video, recorded from a distance, shows a cloud of dark smoke rising up in the nighttime. Those sharing it claimed that the US attacked the Imam Hassan Military Barracks in Iran's Kermanshah province.

Reverse-searching keyframes from the video led us to a Dubai-based Instagram account called The Dubai Junction. On November 25, 2025, it shared the video, claiming that a fire broke out in warehouses in the Umm Ramool district. According to a Newsflare report, these warehouses caught fire on November 24, 2025.

The Dubai government's media office said in a post at the time that civil defence teams acted promptly and brought the fire in the warehouses in the Umm Ramool area under control. No injuries were reported.

Thus, we concluded that none of these videos shows the aftermath of a US or Iranian attack after the recent escalation of the war.

Notably, the US has reportedly attacked the port cities of Bandar Abbas, Sirik, and Jask, and Qeshm Island over the standoff in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has also claimed to have attacked US military assets in Gulf countries, including Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, and Jordan. However, none of the aforementioned four videos show any of these attacks!- EndsPublished By: Pathikrit SanyalPublished On: Jul 13, 2026 18:45 IST
