NEET AIR 14 Sarthak Patil from Sangli eyes AIIMS Delhi after re-exam success
Sarthak credited his success to the unwavering support of his parents and teachers. Looking ahead, he hopes to pursue MBBS and higher medical education at AIIMS, Delhi, with the aim of serving society as a doctor.
Sarthak's success came in the NEET re-examination, which was conducted after the paper leak controversy triggered nationwide concern among aspirants.
The decision to hold the re-examination caused anxiety and uncertainty for thousands of students who had already completed the exam and were looking forward to a break after months of preparation.
Despite the emotional stress and disruption, Sarthak remained focused and emerged among the country's top performers by securing AIR 14.
Reacting to his result, Sarthak stressed the need for stronger government action to prevent paper leaks.
"Paper leaks create immense stress for students. Many feel that their hard work is wasted. The government should take strict action to ensure such incidents do not happen again." he told India Today.
He urged authorities to ensure stricter safeguards so that the examination process remains fair and transparent.
Sarthak is the eldest son of Dr Surekha Patil and Dr Mahesh Patil. He has aspired to become a doctor since childhood and has been studying at the Sanjay Ghodawat NEET Institute in Sangli since Class 7.
From Class 7 to Class 12, he consistently topped his class every year. He also secured an outstanding rank in the Class 12 board examinations this year.
