“NCERT is playing a crucial role in building a Viksit Bharat and nurturing skilled, capable, and globally responsible human resources through quality education. The new textbooks for classes 1 to 9 are already out and the textbooks for classes 10 to 12 are being prepared in mission mode,” he said.

The minister also highlighted NCERT’s work on the National Curriculum Framework for Foundational Stage 2022 and the National Curriculum Framework for School Education 2023.NCERT TURNS 66: MORE AI, INNOVATION

Joshi said NCERT’s next phase must respond to the rapid changes brought by artificial intelligence.

“In the last two years artificial intelligence has rapidly become part of our everyday lives,” he said, noting that younger students are also increasingly using AI.

He said textbooks and curricula must evolve to help students understand and use AI “confidently and also responsibly”. He also called for parents to be made more aware of children’s technology use so they can guide and monitor them.

Joshi said NCERT should strengthen its research ecosystem and use technology more effectively, while keeping student mental well-being in focus.

The minister also highlighted NCERT’s multilingual education efforts. Textbooks for Classes 1 to 8 are being prepared in all 22 languages listed in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution, alongside 121 primers in Indian languages, including 93 tribal languages.NEW TOOLS FOR CHANGING CLASSROOM

During the celebrations, Joshi inaugurated a Robotics Learning Centre, Translation Lab and upgraded television studio. A new Gate No. 2 complex and theme park were also opened.

The event also saw the release of Flora and Fauna at NCERT, a coffee-table book, and an exhibition showcasing initiatives including Jaadui Pitara, PM eVIDYA, DIKSHA and eJaadui Pitara.
