Delhi govt announces free DTC travel for NEET UG retest candidates on June 21

Under the initiative, candidates will only need to show their valid NEET admit card to the bus conductor to avail of the facility.

The Delhi Government said the decision was taken to support students appearing for the re-examination after the National Testing Agency (NTA) cancelled the NEET-UG exam held on May 3 amid allegations of a paper leak. “Understanding these challenges, the Delhi Government stands with the candidates. The government's effort is to ensure that candidates do not face any transportation-related inconvenience on the day of the examination,” Gupta said.

She said free travel in DTC buses would help candidates reach their examination centres on time without additional stress and enable them to take the examination with complete concentration and confidence.

In a statement, the Chief Minister’s Office said, “The Delhi Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, announced that all NEET candidates will be able to travel free of cost on DTC buses on June 21, the day of the examination, and reach their respective examination centres. To avail themselves of this facility, candidates will only be required to show their valid NEET admit card to the bus conductor.”

Gupta said the time, hard work and future of young students are extremely important and asserted that the Delhi Government is committed to providing every possible support and convenience during education and competitive examinations.

She added that examinations such as NEET are closely linked to the lives and futures of candidates and that it is the responsibility of the government to provide maximum support and convenience on the examination day so that students do not face unnecessary difficulties or stress.

In a post, Gupta said, “To support candidates appearing for NEET (UG) 2026 on 21 June, the Delhi Government will provide free travel in all DTC buses upon presentation of a valid admit card. No student should face inconvenience on a day that holds such importance for their future.”

Extending her best wishes to aspirants, the Chief Minister said the examination was an opportunity to give a new direction to their hard work, dedication and dreams. She urged candidates to appear for the examination with confidence and wished them success and a bright future.
